Frankenstein: Good and Bad Consequences the creation of a Second Creature
In Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the creation of a second creature wold have both positive and negative consequences. At first, I completely agree that a mate for the creature would be the best option for Victor and for the creature himself. Moreover, Victor would no longer be haunted by the condition of his creation, lose no more loved ones, and know he did something good for the being he had once abandoned. For the creature, "the love of another would destroy the cause of (his) hate crimes" (Shelley, 106). This creation seems to be the only hope of happiness for the creature. However, if Victor did go through with the creature's request, there would also be negative effects. Firstly, the second creature may detest the first, causing extreme outrage among the original creature. Then, the two creatures could create a "race of devils" that inflict there rage of rejection upon the world (Shelley, 121). The simple idea of a second creature could potentially ruin future generations.
